I was the Officer in Charge for little league baseball tonight. - TopicsExpress

I was the Officer in Charge for little league baseball tonight. The truth is, its a tough job and not everyone is capable of doing it. You have to be on your toes, ready for anything, prepared to handle some pretty complicated scenarios. For instance, tonight I had a pretty intense snack bar crisis. The nacho cheese product - that amazingly delicious blob of florescent gooey-ness that comes in a bag and probably doesnt have any cheese in it whatsoever - wasnt coming out of the dispenser properly. The line was getting backed up, and our tiny customers were starting to get restless. I had a decision to make and I needed to make it quick. Thats when I saw the pair of scissors from across the room. I knew what I had to do. They train us for many things (no they dont), but this was one of those times when I had to rely purely on my instincts (its not the first time Ive feverishly cut into a bag of food). Thanks to my quick thinking, I was able to spare dozens of little children from eating plain tortilla chips. Did I mention I get to wear a badge? Im feeling many things tonight, but mostly Im feeling like maybe I dont get out nearly enough.
