I was told this story about Larry Kopp by a good friend who ran Modified. Perhaps some one else can add some details if they know about the incident (time, place, which race car he was in etc.) As related to me Larry was coming out of the water box or doing a dry hop when the throttle linkage stuck open. Larry hit the ignition switch off. Then Larry had the presence of mind to turn it on and off as he brought the car to the starting line. He staged the car and when the lights started down he just left the switch on and boogied on down the track. Anybody else know about this?
