I was waiting for my mom inside the college between the outside doors and the doors into the college, when a man opened the door and greeted me with a hello sir I kindly responded the same and opened the door for him, he looked at me and smiled thank you! Have a happy new year! he then sat in the parking lott in the brisk piercing cold smoking a cigarette. He then comes back to the doors freezing as I open the door for him. This man then sticks out his hand and I return the same and we shake hands introducing ourselves, the man and I made small talk about the cold weather until I asked him what he was majoring in and why? He then proceeds to tell me; he wants to help people make the right decisions (overall, help people.) He then told me how he made the mistake of drinking and driving, ending up in a horrible accident that snapped his pelvis. He was told he could never walk again. He then went to rehab and people started working on his legs, then one day he was able to walk again and he reflected on his second chance that not many others can get, and how he wants to help people make the right decisions. I was baffled and taken away by his story I was virtually speechless. We then shook hands, and said good evening. Quite an awesome moment.
