I was watching a comedians round table on Netflix this morning. I love these because you get some insight into their world beyond their celebrity. I was thunderstruck by a story that Jim Carrey shared about a time, early in his career where he was opening rock and roll shows. The story was he was opening one night for a now forgettable, then and gone band. The crowd not only wanted him off the stage, they HATED him! How bad? At one point in his act, there was a lighting malfunction. As the lights went out, a heavy, soaking wet towel hit him square across his chest and hard enough to knock him back about 6 feet. As this drenched towel fell off of his chest...he smelled urine! Several people in the crowd had pissed on a towel, completely loading it and hurled it at him! He survived the night, even closing his act by having the entire crowd moon him. Needless to say, hes long since over come that, but I was left with this lingering thought...no matter how bad of a day Ive had at work, no one has ever thrown a towel loaded with piss at me! Just amazing!
