I was with National Wildlife Federation naturalist/spokesman David Mizejewski a few weeks ago. As we drove to the mountains in SE Oklahoma we passed some flattened armadillos and I told him the joke about how armadillos are born dead on the side of the road. David laughed and said he was going to use the line during his next appearance on Conan OBriens show when he was scheduled to show a non-flattened armadillo. And he did. Sort of. He left out the born dead part, but I thought it was great that he remembered the joke. Skip to about 1:40 for the armadillo segment.
