I was working an extra job yesterday when a man walked into the business wearing a T - shirt that said Hands Up Dont Shoot we exchanged good mornings and went on about our business. I couldnt help but think about how backwards our Country has become. When I was growing up our heroes were Firemen, Policemen, Soldiers, Astronauts, and people who were protecting us or trying to make a positive difference in our community and the world. Men and women of integrity, honor, honesty, and dignity. Flash forward to today where everything is about me. Kids are looking at athletes who are thugs and gang members, actors and actresses who are revered for pretending to be something that they arent as role models. Criminals are glorified for breaking the law, and Cops are scrutinized for trying to enforce and uphold the law. Now we have a President who had an opportunity to show what we could do as a United nation but instead has done more to divide and destroy our nation than anyone in the last 200 years combined. They have said for years that we could never be conquered from the outside and that we would destroy ourselves from the inside out, and unfortunately I believe we have gotten to the line in the sand and we are on the verge of stepping across to our own demise. When we spend more time fighting against each other than we do caring about each other then we have reached the point of no return, and believe me when I say this, that is exactly where we are. We the People of these United States has now been replaced with Me the individual. When you read the Declaration of Independence you suddenly realize we have become what our ancestors fought to free us from.
