I watched the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center tonight and got to hear my second all-time favorite Christmas song performed live by Mariah Carey! All I Want for Christmas Is You! Christmas is my favorite holiday but at the same time it has become the saddest time. I miss my boys, seeing the gleam in their eyes at the sight of the tree and all the decorations. The innocence in their belief of Santa Clause, and their excitement and joy on Christmas morning! Now they are all grown up, spread out in different states with lives of their own. I am so proud and happy for each and every one of them, even though I have dreaded the day that I always knew would come. When I remember all the good and even some of the hard times, I smile through the tears, joy swelling in my heart. I have made some mistakes, Lord forgive me, I truly tried my best. Hindsight is 20/20. It is easy to sit back and judge, while I did my best every day. I had a pure heart, and I gave all my love. They will always be my boys, a gift shared with me. I was blessed. I will be forever grateful.
