I watched this documentary called The Impostor last night. This young man had an obsession with becoming someone else and assumed the identity of a missing youth. What I felt while watching this person is compassion for his illness. I have dealt with a similar person in my own life who is just as ill and who has been stalking and harassing me and my family for years on line--while also impersonating me using my name and picture on Twitter. I struggle with my anger, sometimes, as I wait for the authorities to do something. I document everything he does, and I have binders of stuff. Yet, I am also filled with an understanding that obsessed people with mental illness sadly find their grounding in another persons life. Without excusing the damaging effects of his behavior on me, my daughters and others, I pray for this person to get the psychiatric help he needs that may be the end result of justice--soon. Sometimes, forgiveness is a necessary to find compassion, and then there is no enemy; there is only love for humanity.
