I watched two videos on orcas and captivity tonight. In the one by Frontline (PBS show) the trainer of Flipper, Ric OBarrys Dolphin Project, said the dolphin committed suicide right in front of him while in captivity because she (yes, Flipper was a girl dolphin named Kathy) was so despondent. I learned that 70% of SeaWorlds ticket sales is attributed to the killer whales, and theres a long paper trail implicating SeaWorld in unethical/CRUEL ways of securing wild orcas and dolphins for their business. My memory was also jogged to the fact that SeaWorld is owned by Anheuser Busch (think Budweiser)! Glad Im not a beer drinker!
