I went through one of the worst things in my life today. Whether i should share this on facebook is questionable, but i think others can learn from my mistake. So here goes. This morning I got up in a great mood, jumped in the shower, got dressed and then headed down to the kitchen to make a sandwich. And what a sandwich this was; Deli style ham, tomatoes, cucumber and a healthy bit of mayo, all encased in some soft, seeded, brown bread. I was preparing this sandwich with all the care and attention that a mans lunch deserves- positioning the tomatoes just right, squeezing the mayo out in a decorative swirl and slicing the whole thing into two perfect triangles (because it just better that way). Once prepared, I began looking in the cupboard for a suitably sized box/container to put my culinary masterpiece in, but i couldnt find anything (turns out Id left the perfect one in work the previous day). So with no other obvious options available i decided I would have to wrap said sandwich in foil. And this, dear facebook friends, is where everything went terribly wrong. I placed the sandwich in the foil, folded the right side over to the left and left over to the right. Then, for some inexplicable reason i rotated the half closed foil package away from me, causing my delicious ham sandwich to drop out onto the kitchen counter before slipping away and down to the kitchen floor below. The three second rule had passed long before I had managed to come to terms with what had happened and now, what was potentially an amazing lunch was just an inconvenient mess on my kitchen floor. Today I will go without lunch in memory of what could have been one of the best sandwiches of my life- but I will never know. Take care when storing sandwiches, if youre careless you might live to regret it.
