I went to Pat Nethercutts funeral service today. The preacher was good. It was a bit strange though. Only two people I knew was Kim Hardy and Delbert Sanderson. Everybody else was mostly family. So, when the preacher asked if anybody wanted to share anything I spoke up. Let them know I went to school with her and graduated from high school in 1974. And how when I found out she was in the nursing home here in Havelock I would always visit with her. How she was planning on getting out soon and had asked me to help her locate a place for rent. Somebody who worked with her at Snuggs Harbour said how she was such a caring person. I related a story of how concern she was about a classmates father well being more than her own there at the nursing home. Some family members thanked me for sharing these memories. Since I was there I went ahead and did my weekly visit with some I know who are buried there!
