I went to Union Station last night to see The Dinner and a Show Show staring our friends Thom Wall and Benjamin Domask. I loved this show so much that I thought I would share my glaring review with the club. My unbiased review (not a spoiler): The Dinner and a Show Show is a wonderful story about two handsome waiters who work at an upscale restaurant. Ben plays a hapless assistant waiter who gains the audiences affection with his characters sensitive, and somewhat flawed, personality. Thom plays an experienced Italian waiter who is bound to make sure everything runs smoothly. The duo work charmingly together to make sure they provide the best service to their customers despite all the problems they encounter. Panic ensues as the two unprepared waiters realize a super important guest of honor is coming to eat at the restaurant. This show was very funny and brilliantly written. There was a lot of juggling and prop manipulation to keep you on the edge of your seat through the whole show. The plate juggling and the wine bottle routine were two of my favorite juggling acts, but there was plenty of remarkable juggling to keep you entertained. If youre a juggler, you will be impressed by the tricks performed in this show! The Dinner and a Show Show has a perfect balance of a great story and some amazing juggling. This show is quality entertainment, along the lines of The Flying Karamazov Brothers. I laughed the whole way through the show. If youre looking for a good show, I highly recommend The Dinner and a Show Show. Tell them the Kansas City Juggling Club sent you!
