I went to get a haircut with my husband today and I found myself thinking of years ago when the Barber shop was the place to gather for local gossip, well this hair dresser is for men and women & we got into a lovely discussion regarding local issues and it was refreshing to think this is a topic on many of our minds. Many of our panel lives in ward 8 but we had an open discussion regarding several issues and one of the main ones was the Memorial Park or should we call it the parade square issue, the second was the absence of affordable housing for seniors and those with handicap issues....Burton Avenue was foremost on our minds...why were people allowed to buy into this style of living when there was a sale pending...shame on those in charge. Where do single seniors go to live on their own....we all found this very sad. One gentleman was very excited about the fire dept. & the large salaries when the ratio of fires in the City does not reflect what we are paying....I havent been concerned about this but people in the shop seemed to think this was an issue.......what do you think people?
