I went to my Orthopedic doc yesterday for a consultation on my options for treating my knee problems. After x-rays and MRIs it is clear that Im a candidate for knee replacement surgery. So now the question is just timing. Probably going to have it done in early July. The good news is he will be able to do a partial replacement involving only the medial compartment of the joint. Recovery time is quicker and I get to retain my ACL, knee cap, and other ligaments of the knee joint not affect by the replacement. This will allow me to have a more natural gate and some lateral movement of the joint. Its likely my heavy deadlifting and heavy squatting days are done, though. :-(
