I went to see Charlottes Web last night. I was impressed with the set as soon as I walked in. Really thought I was in the barn. Alix Alix Bloodworth did an awesome job as director. This was her first experience with directing but you never would have known. Her opening remarks were really cute. Charlotte was beautiful when she appeared. Kayla Marie Little was so gentle in speech and had such a sweet smile as Charlotte. Narrators helped transition scenes at just the right times and their diction was great. Could hear and understand every word they said. The family was very believable and sounded really country. Templeton was great too and Wilbur was portrayed in a cute way. Even though he was a she I got used to it easily. Laynie Mitchell is always in character no matter what character she plays. Pat Williams kept his beard from the last show and made a great country farmer. Lurvy sounded like he was straight from the movie. The casting was great, each person playing their part. Even the goose goose goose and gander gander gander. Charlottess children were sweet when they showed up at the end. I was so happy I was able to see this awesome production. If you are 3 or 93, you will enjoy this timeless story. Hearing the children in the audience make innocent comments made watching even more fun seeing how much they enjoyed it. There is a matinee tomorrow and the show runs next weekend as well. Almost a full house last night, opening night, the cast received a standing ovation- much deserved. Go out and support Playhouse and enjoy a wonderful night of entertainment. Murray is lucky to have Playhouse In The Park. Thanks sponsors! Thanks Lisa for securing my tickets.
