I went to the ER last week. Thought I was experiencing appendicitis, with pain in the appropriate place and low fever that was rising. I called my nurse daughter Michele who concurred with my self-diagnosis and whisked me to the hospital. My good news was NO SURGERY - I was suffering from diverticulitis and had caught the infection before it did permanent damage. The best news I got was that my CT-scanned lower parts have no discernible masses or anomalies that would require further investigation! I had an overnight stay and release with heavy duty antibiotics and dietary guidelines. Counting blessings and eating yogurt!
