I will be an Onkyo USA customer for life -- and you should be - TopicsExpress

I will be an Onkyo USA customer for life -- and you should be too!! A few years back I purchased a refurb TX-NR609 amp for the champagne room from B&H Photo Video Pro Audio. Its worked like a champ the whole time. Two weeks ago I turned it on and there was no sound coming out on any input I selected. Also I noticed some of the on-screen menu items were ghosted out (yes, when you press setup it shows on the TV!!) I called their 24/7 support (that alone is awesome) and we tried a few things including new firmware (also awesome) and still nothing. I had never given them even my serial number at this point, they just helped me with their product as a company should do. So the tech suggests it will need service but before I do anything I should call their parts/service department since it was two years out of warranty already. Not sure why he suggested it, but I follow his advice this morning. The tech there asked if I had registered it and since I hadnt proceeds to do so over the phone for me (which by the way, you can leave your number, and they call you back when your turn in the queue happens -- it was about 20 minutes for me). niiiiiceeee. Now, I hadnt even told this guy what was wrong yet since we hadnt even gotten that far. After registration, he tells me that they are sending me a pre-paid shipping box, to put the unit in there, send it back, and they will then repair and ship me it back within 7 business days -- no charge to me in any way. HOLY SHIT! I couldnt believe my ears! Was this real? This is a real company that operates this customer-service-oriented?? Im still in shock, awe and amazement. If more companies treated their customers like this, they would spend less on stupid commercials and advertising because people like me would be singing their praises to the high heavens (case in point). I need two more amps/receivers/HDMI switchers as it stands -- one for the bedroom and one for the living room, so I will certainly be getting Onkyo brand without even a question now. onkyousa/Products/model.php?m=TX-NR609&class=Receiver&source=prodClass
