I will deal with any Oba who flouts my orders, Fayose warns Ajero, Ewi! It was a case of a leopard that never changes its spot few days ago when Emperor Ayodele Fayose, the Maximum ruler of Ekiti State threatened to deal with Oba Joseph Adebayo Adewole II, the Ajero of Ijero- Ekiti and Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe, the Ewi of Ado Ekiti. While he threatened the Ajero on the phone with indigenes of the town listening as he harassed the monarch, he warned Ewi not to cross his path this time around like he did during his aborted first term as Governor. The Monitors gathered that Fayose had about 3 weeks ago ordered that one of the transformers in Ijero be relocated to another town but Ijero people resisted. The Governor asked the Ajero to prevail on his subjects to allow the transformer to be removed promising a new one will be brought there almost immediately but that was not to be! When no replacement of the transformer was forthcoming as promised, indigenes of the town started complaining that apart from the transformer that was removed, Ijero has been marginalised in terms of appointment by the Fayose administration citing the case of Kayode Alufa, a.k.a K. Lufa the Senatorial aspirant who was asked to drop his ambition without any compensation. Fayose heard about this complaints and called the Ajero who he lambasted thoroughly. Kabiyesi, e woo, e ma ni suru funmi ni o! E ma ni mi lara o! Mi o tori Ijero wa ni ijoba o! Obakoba to ba fowo pa Ida mi loju, Ida mi a ge o Mio mo Oba mi o mo ijoye o! This means in English (Kabiyesi, you have to exercise patience and give me a breathing space. I am not in government to please Ijero. Any Kabiyesi who flouts my order shall be dealt with, I dont give a damn about any Oba or Chief!). Indigenes of Ijero who were listening on phone were shocked that Fayose could speak to Ajero in such manner on phone! In a similar vein, a demolition exercise was going on at the back of the Post Office close to Ewis palace on the orders of Fayose. The Ewi sent his staff of office (Opa Ase) to the site and ordered the workers to stop the demolition exercise. When Fayose heard about this, he was very furious and sent words to Ewi that if he sends the Opa Ase there again, he will seize it and detain whoever brought it! He further warned the Ewi that he would not tolerate all the nonsense that Ewi did to him during his first term in office which spoilt his government. He said this time around, he would not wait till Ewi will ruin him but he will strike him first before he has any capacity to destroy him! Ewi was reported to be speechless! Ekitikete oooo! Ee ti rin n kankan! The Monitors
