“I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I - TopicsExpress

“I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised.” Jos 1:3 NIV Can you imagine how Joshua felt stepping into Moses’ shoes? He needed assurance, so God told him: (1) “I will give you every place where you set your foot.” In other words, just step out in faith and claim it. It’s yours, if you’re willing to walk toward it and take possession. Would it be easy? Would they get there overnight? No, but their confidence came from the words, “as I promised.” The song goes: “Standing on the promises that cannot fail; when the howling winds of doubt and fear assail. Standing on the living word I shall prevail; standing on the promises of God.” (2) “No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life” (v. 5 NIV). Will you face criticism? Yes. Will you come under attack? Yes. There were thirty-one kings, seven nations, and giants the size of telephone poles waiting for the Israelites in the Promised Land. But every battle you fight is just an opportunity for God to show Himself strong on your behalf. (3) “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you” (v. 5 NIV). If you’re anxious about the future, recall God’s faithfulness to you in the past. At the end of his life Joshua wrote: “Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled” (Jos 23:14 NIV). And the God who came through for Joshua, will come through for you. I once heard T.D. Jakes explain it this way, We live our lives forward, but we understand the story backwards. When faced with a delimma, I try to remember all the trials and hardship God has rescued me from. Its a comforting exercise is you will. Most times its not the hardship that makes it so, its the constant worrying, the anxiety of not having or seeing a solution. Its in these times when I often speak to myself and remind myself, listen God is either going to do it for you, give you more time, or provide a resource. YES IT IS THAT SIMPLE. Or even when HE doesnt actually supply in the physical sense HE WILL ALWAYS GIVE YOU PEACE IF YOU OPEN YOURSELF TO IT. God is ALWAYS there for you, you just have to Trust and Believe. Think of all the blessings and favor HE bestows without us having to even ask. Dont take the presence of the Storm, to indicate the absents of God. HE IS ALWAYS WITH US AND HE KNOWS YOUR NAME...
