I will live for the love in my life, for those who show it, not just when we are together, but when it counts the most, when we are apart. My loyalty is for those who never gave me cause to doubt theirs. I have no time for smiling faces that yield a knife in their hidden hands, waiting for my back to turn, so they can strike with the blade of betrayal. I have lived too many years to settle for less. I hold myself above no one, nor will I allow anyone to hold themselves above me. I earned this selective philosophy from years of pain, grief and then triumph. I will live my remaining years in the company of trusted family and friends, where who I am is good enough, with my faith as my guide. No one could ask for more then this.
