I will miss Don Jenson. My heart is broken over the loss of this fine human being. He was a blues booster for so many years. His presence at Sams Hof Brau and the Torch Club brought class and the human touch to these venues. Many of us who worked our way into the blues music scene in Sacramento owe a debt of gratitude to Don for taking the time to put in a good word for us in the ears of club owners and managers. Frankly, Bob McCook would have kept turning his nose up at Mick Martin & the Blues Rockers if not for Don, a humble man who made us all -- customers and musicians alike -- feel like we mattered.
