I will never be a mental slave to money, I refuse. I can only imagine how horrible an existence that must be, especially after reading many of these Facebook posts. It seems that it effectively blocks any spiritual connection you could possibly have to the Earth, yourself, humanity, and other living creatures. It cripples you and hinders your ability to realize your full potential. I dont want to be a part of that madness. Dont get me wrong, I fully understand the importance of the little pieces of paper we call money. I also realize the importance of the rocks and minerals that we have given monetary value and formed into money. We have created a world system where the comfortableness of our existence depends on our ability to gain little pieces of paper and rocks and minerals; I fully acknowledge that fact. In this system, our worth and success are judged based on how many little pieces of paper and rocks and minerals we can manage to earn...sometimes even neglecting the moral ramifications of how we earned such a substantial amount. You could be a horrible human being, but as long as you have a large amount of these little pieces of paper youre considered a monumental success and can buy friends, respect, and every worldly thing you could want. No one seems to care how cruel, immoral, or hypocritical the money game can be, all that matters is that you learn how to play the game and play well. Fascinatingly, its both ingenious and depressing when you take the time to think about it. I fully understand that I will have to earn a very large amount of little pieces of paper to achieve my goals, although my goals are not materialistic, because that is simply the reality of the world I was born into. Im a player in the game, even if I think the game is stupid and unnecessarily complicated. I just play in my own way. I choose to focus on my goals and the difference I want to make in the world, not the money game Im forced to play to achieve those goals. We all must be physical slaves to money, but its our choice if we want to be mental slaves to little pieces of paper.
