I wish that were the end of it. That Frodo stayed there in Lorien, where fall does not whither and winter does not sting. Where golden leaves upon the mallorn-trees are pale gold in morning dew. Where stars upon their heavenly dwelling glimmer glad upon the many eyes in Lorien and stay there glimmering on viewer gaze. I wish there would be the end of his adventure. Something like: and there he lived happily among the elves until the rest of his days. Of course this cannot be so, Frodo must go into darkness. In the midst of shadow, through ash and fire. Odd connection that this would be Frodos place and mine. -my thoughts while finishing The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkein
