I witnessed something today at the shop that made me feel good all day. A struggling single mother NEEDED brakes on her car very badly, but turned them down saying shed come back another day for them. Okay, we hear that every day. Now it gets interesting. After I went back around to the front, she was talking on the phone with a friend or family member, apparently, about how she was now afraid to drive the car with her children inside, but couldnt afford to have them done and to please pray for her to be able to somehow find the money to get the work done.. Another lady that wished to remain anonymous came around to me and quietly asked how much it would cost to fix everything needed on the young mothers car. Just under $500 (they were in TERRIBLE shape). She paid her own bill, then gave me her credit card number and information with instructions to wait until she was gone, then to inform the young lady that her brakes were to be repaired in Jesus name. She paid for her brakes and her oil change. Race isnt relevant, but one of the ladies was white and the other was black. When I look around the country at everything going on, Im glad we got past all of that in Alabama 50 years ago. It made my day.
