I woke up at 0400 to pouring rain and lay there listening, - TopicsExpress

I woke up at 0400 to pouring rain and lay there listening, remembering this song from Silver Wing, and all of my wonderful Hippie teachers and their guitars who would break into songs spontaneously, as well as when we gathered in the auditorium for the pledge and patriotic songs. They taught us the black national anthem too...aside from the short part in the song about the ladybugs house being on fire and her children will burn (horrible imagery, why do we do that to kids with nursery rhymes and stories??), these guitar toting civil rights fighters helped me form my belief system. The rain made me remember you and be thankful. Wherever you are, you are the reason I became a nurse and teacher, to serve others, you did change at least one life and I am eternally grateful. I would not be the public servant and crazy crusader that I am if not for all of you. How I wish I could see you all again to tell you how much good you did! Who knew Petula Clark, with her English accent, was fluent in French... can you follow what they say? https://youtube/watch?v=fVYNqGNZmyk
