I wonder why when you lose a loved one the passing years seem to get longer and longer at certain times. Almost feels like an eternity since you saw their face, heard their voice telling you they love you and the infectious laughter that filled the room, felt their warm embrace, smelled the essence of their existence..... occasionally, I swear I can smell him. My daddys cologne.... It brings back many wonderful memories that bring joy to my soul and at the same exact moment breaks my heart all over again with longing to tell him one more time how very, very much I love him and miss him and how blessed I am to call him Daddy. 18 years feels like a lifetime. There are no words to describe the pain of the loss or the beauty of what the heart holds that no one can take from you. Daddy, I am grateful to have been your daughter. And even though years have gone by I still think of you every day and love and miss you like crazy. I hold tight to the fact that we will meet again one day. *Were lovin on borrowed time*
