I wondered why many of you believed my mom had to be a GOOD mom because of my care for her. Not so! I NEVER have said that I had a good mom. As with any kids who were abused, we (my sister and I) had to keep what was going on in our house to ourselves. IM FREE and dont mind talking about that hell, HOWEVER, I will always be respectful to my parents! I merely tell the truth. Im NOT caring for mom because she was good to me. I care because she is the woman God chose to be my mom. Her sometimes harsh treatment of me did not begin with dementia. This has been years in the making. I forgave my mom (& dad) a long time ago for the pain she inflicted on me. She didnt ask for it, and she hasnt changed. I gave it freely......been wanting to say this for a while. I love my mom regardless of her shortcomings. Isnt that what Godly love is all about? So for those of you who have wonderful parents, who made sacrifices for you and loved you unconditionally, CHERISH THEM. Some of us dont have that testimony.
