I would be a fool if I were to ignore the fact that there is a huge amount of injustice in this world..... Every crime against a Black individual isnt an hate crime, however in some cases they are & we as people of all color and shade need to band together and admitt when wrong is wrong!!!! I have many great friends of all color/background who are Police Officers, however just like there are some bad & crooked minded individuals in the world, there are some crooked cops in uniforms.... This is more than a job for the mere person to solve!!! We truly need call people out on their wrong doing & give them consequences for their deviant behavior against others. Two summers ago I was riding my Beach Cruisor, while one of my students rode his BMX bike........ An under cover police car pulled up alongside of us & told us to pulled over at the curb. In my mind I wondered WHY we were following all of the traffic rules!?! 4 cops then got out of the car. I attempted to get off of my bike & the officer reached at his waist..... Telling me not to move and stay on my bike. Suddenly we had 4 officers around us!! They began to use their night sticks to poke at our bags, while asking us where we were coming from & even though I said home. That still wasnt enough!!! They then asked where is home??? I responded Williamsburg At that moment even though I didnt want to, I had to come to the realization that I was being judge!!! I was a black male, fully tatted, riding a beach Cruisor, with a basket attached to it & that wasnt making sense in their minds + my student was also black with dread locks...... They continued with questioning..... Asking how did we get the bikes to the Flatbush area, if we came from Williamsburg???? I responded that we rode all the way.... They then asked how long did it take us..... As they continued to now search us and our bags!!! After the searching was finished I wanted to react to them in such a negative manor.....however I maintained my cool and encouraged my student to do the same.... They now began to ask where were we heading & thats when my intelligence took over. I said I heading to the studio one cop then said oh your a rapper?!?! I responded no....... Im an entrepreneur, NY marathon runner, visual artist, creator of a dance style, designer, mentor, martial artist and I own my own organization The main cop then asked Do you think that you could teach an old guy like me some martial arts I responded indeed I can, the studio is location at etc...... He then replied Have a nice day There were 3 white officers and 1 black officer........ For that whole duration I could see it in the eyes of the black officer & one of the other officer that they knew that my student and I were being treating wrong/they had now ground for doing so......... Still they did nothing to bring us justice!!! Scott Haughton do you remember this day???
