I would just like to say that I do not in any way endorse dog fighting. I think it is horrible in every aspect. But guys, if you love the pit you have to understand that it is a part of this breeds history, part of its DNA (no matter what you guys think, in every dog breed there is dog aggression. Call it what you want- male dominance or whatever) so to be pit bull owner you HAVE to understand and accept this. And then treat the dog accordingly. Hopefully the traits will never ever surface. But the fact remains that it is there. I have had my current dog, a male pit, for 5 years. He is still intact. He has bred two females and been in three different fights in his life. He has never bit anyone or killed another dog. Or cat. Take away the fact that he is a pit bull and does this story sound like any body elses that owns a male dog of any breed? They are just a dog! But if we let that aggression get out of hand ever once or fail to repremand them when they are out of line it wont take long for the dog to think he or she is running the show. As with any breed. But apperantly the media thinks its cute and that its just defending itself/family when a small dog acts in the exact same manner.
