I would like everyone who sees this status update to consider buying at least one of my titles, but PLEASE do it through legitimate sources like iTunes or Amazon or KOBObooks or BarnesandNoble. The other day, I GOOGLED myself (I know, I know) and found a blogsite that had Burnt Ends and Caterpillar Poems all set up to download. The good news was that over 1500 people had already done it. The bad news is that I wont ever see a single dime from any of those downloads. I usually earn 59 cents for each legitimate download of that title, and you can do your own math on what 1500+ downloads would look like. If you happen to run into an opportunity to download one of my titles for free through a third party, I ask you to pass that opportunity up. 99 cents or $1.99 is not too much to ask for an ebook containing award-winning, published work from a professional writer. Im glad that nearly 2,000 people will be reading that title, but Im sad that it comes at such a high financial sacrifice for the creator of that title.
