I would like to add another point to my rant below - some people are probably shaking their head asking what about savings - well yes I did have savings - what I thought was enough to cover a glitch you know that minimum 3 months of salary just in case model, I have always had private medical cover - so yes to date I have been what I thought was kinda organised - sadly when you are given a diagnosis that tells you there are few options you start to explore the alternatives - I firmly believe in natural remedies and have pursued this - but these are not cheap and only have minimal coverage under most private medical insurance schemes - it is amazing how quickly your savings go when you travel this path ...while I am extremely grateful to live in this wonderful country where we have medical interventions that would not be accessible to me elsewhere under a public hospital system - I believe that few of us are as prepared as we would want to be when you are challenged with things that throw your ability to earn an income out the door - as my darling mum would always say when life gives you lemons - get the Gin out of the cupboard - I am so glad she left me a supply of her finest :)
