I would like to ask for prayers for me for tomorrow. For the past 2+ years I have been having some issues that are very similar to lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Most days are really good, but there have been many days that are just almost unbearable. Blood work in January leans toward lupus (scleraderma to be exact). A large majority of my symptoms began 4 years ago. You see, I am not one to take medication on a regular basis. After having my thyroid removed in January 1999 I could make a 30 day prescription for levothyroxine last at least 12+ months!! But in 2010 I bought the little old lady pill box and began taking my prescription daily as directed. About a year later my current symptoms began. My labs for my thyroid hormone level for the past 2 years has been drastically low. 4 weeks ago I quit taking my medication. I WANT TO MAKE IT VERY VERY CLEAR THAT I DO NOT RECOMMEND NOR DO I ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO DISCONTINUE THEIR MEDICATIONS. However, since stopping the levothyroxine, a majority of my symptoms have subsided. Tomorrow I will find out if I really have a scleraderma diagnosis or if my thyroid medication was simply too much.
