I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the outpour of love, support, prayers, phone calls, texts, wall post and condolences that you all sent our way. As we all know there are never words for something like this, but its so nice to know that so many loved my Boy, Knight! Thank you all! I cant imagine what his last moments were like, but can not stop going over and over my assumptions in my mind. And I cant stop crying and wondering why I was not woke up before it was too late??? What I can tell you for sure is what a gentle soul he was. Even at the end. My Daphne was the one that got her tooth and tongue caught up in his collar. I believe in my heart, had it been almost any other dog, she would have been torn to shreds. With the help of Pam Goodnough Clanton, (there are just no words to express my appreciation for her) we took her to the vet for an overall check up. She has deep muscle puncture wounds, and a black (bottom 1/4 inch) tongue, where she went a while, with no circulation to it. She was given an antibiotic shot and 10 days of oral antibiotics. Physically she is very sore. She limps a little on her right side, where she has 6 puncture wounds, and 1 on her left. This I assume she did on his tooth, as she tried to get out of his collar. Yet My Knight never attacked her in any way. Mentally is another deal. My girl has been totally traumatized. Yesterday morning she wanted to attack everyone and everything that came near her. She jumps at the slightest, out of the ordinary noise and when we went outside she wouldnt leave the patio to go potty, unless I went to the grass with her. I stayed with her all day. I had her on the bed with me and let Zuri up with her. Zuri knowing something was wrong, tried to kiss her pains away, and she went to attack her. With time she was so sore she couldnt jump on the bed, so I went and laid in her kennel with her. As the day passed I eventually brought her Daddy Duke in with her. He being the one that gave Knight his gentle soul & spirit, he soothed her until she finally relaxed with him being around. After a few outside breaks with Duke, I added Zuri to the mix. So the 3 are back together. Every time we go outside she does her business and then goes to sniff the spot where Knight laid last. It breaks my heart even more each time. Princess Di on the other hand, having the same hi energy Daphne has, I still have not been able to put them together. Di goes to Daphnes kennel and tries to play with her, but she still gets loud with her barking. Her hair is standing up and at the same time her tail barely wagging. Di doesnt know what to make of it, so that one will be a slow process. Waking up this morning and letting everyone out without my Knight was painfully heartbreaking. I just want to be able to breathe again!!! Again thank you all for everything. Please continue to pray for me. There are no words to describe the hurt and anger I am feeling, and I know only God can help me through this.
