I would like to see justice for all not just one. If there is - TopicsExpress

I would like to see justice for all not just one. If there is cause to take this policeman to court, let them do so. It may not what the family wants, but in this country, you are allowed to go to court except in cases where the police were doing their job and were assaulted or he thought his life was in danger. The same can be said of all the residents of Missouri. If you are in fear for your life, the life of a family member or just a person who is being attacked and is, in your mind, in a fatal encounter with another ( ie; to protect the life of that person as written in our Constitution.) I do not advocate shooting people just for sport or because they call you names, curse you or even belittle you verbally. But there are many people who have with them a weapon capable of killing the assailant and you use it for the above reasons, you are not guilty of anything. As a matter of fact, if someone is in a life threatening situation, you are required to aid that person even if you know nothing about them. That is not intended to insinuate we should go out of our way to make things worse but if you can aid someone you are required to do so. The caveat here is in matters that would aid a felon or an assault on a police officer can go two ways. Either the first response of helping someone might be aiding a person who is engaged in a felony is aiding and abetting a felony, which is illegal and will result in your being tried for the same crime as the perpetuator. And if a cop shoots someone, we do not have the right to shoot back even if he acted out of the of line of duty . That is for the police to take action either siding with the action or not. We are not judge or jury. If you believe that you have been put in a spot of protecting yourself, you are allowed to resort to this act in the manner I put forth earlier. Dont put yourself in the shoes of guilt. If you can exit without any violence, that is the correct course of action. If you are not allowed by some nefarious event, you may defend yourself, a family member or a stranger, provided that the stranger is a innocent person. On the issue of being inside your house or on your property, read what the law says and do the right thing. If you are away from your home and are the victim of a crime, save your own life first!!! If there is enough evidence to show that the culprit was using lethal force ,against you, you have the right, THE RIGHT !!, to defend yourself. In the latest of many Supreme Court actions, it said until the police arrive, the individual has to protect themselves. They did not say to await orders until the police arrive, the simply stated that the person being the victim to a felony or in jeopardy of life or limb, may use whatever they deem to save themselves. Dont go out and try to be robbed just so you can use your stun gun or your new .357 Magnum but use some common sense. Dont put yourself in harms way ( ie: park in well lit parking areas, stay close to the doors, put your head on a swivel and dont look too inviting to someone who would do you harm or put your belongings above your life. As always, Live long and prosper. Peace and long life. .
