I would like to share Harry’s story with everyone as today he overcame a huge obstacle that we have been fighting together for over a year now. Harry came to us looking for a job. He had applied at so many places and was feeling hopeless in actually obtaining a job. We worked with him, giving him job openings, letting him use our computers for online applications, teaching him how to do online applications, created a new resume, he called for interviews, he had interviews and still, no luck, no job. As family after family would get a job and we would celebrate, Harry didn’t understand why it was so easy for others. A job was hard to find for Harry because he has limitations and he is over the age of 65, the age group that we have the hardest time finding a job for. But, Harry stuck with us and we with him. Today, Harry called and told me he got a job!! After a year, of searching, applying and not giving up Harry conquered his mountain. I was overwhelmed with complete joy for him, to the point of happy tears. I am so proud of him and his hard work and the fact that even though it took this long, he did it and he never gave up. To hear his voice on the phone was priceless, he sounded a like a kid on Christmas morning :) It is beautiful, humbling, and completely explains why these people we work with are my Heroes!
