I would like to state that I was rather disappointed that so few directors attended the Directors Meeting at NSC. I realize its not easy to choose between hanging out with friends or attending a meeting, in such a limited time, and that there was the potential for the content of the meeting to be boring, annoying or pointless. However, whether or not we like what someone has to say, they deserve to be heard. With NSC being a rare occasion that has so many directors are present in one place, it had the potential to be more fruitful than numerous online discussions, and also allow us to know each other better. I suppose many of you have attended past NSCs and perhaps didnt find those Directors Meetings to be beneficial. As this was my first NSC, I still had naive optimism. But if we dont use the opportunities we have, how can we expect any growth or coordination to occur? I know a bunch of you are investing much of your free time anyway, so I regret squandering opportunities to discuss the vision or practices of our collective efforts. In the future, directors should RSVP for the meeting. If the attendance is going to be low, then the whole thing should be scrapped. Theres no point pretending that were all on a big team if we have no patience for listening to each other. Thanks to Jason Keller for chairing the meeting.
