I would like to take a moment to reach out and thank United for - TopicsExpress

I would like to take a moment to reach out and thank United for the joy of my last flight, and of course the guy who sat next to me on the flight that really made it an experience. After thinking and reflecting on the things that happened during the flight for an overnight and through the day, I really want to thank United for sitting him next to me, even though I know it was a random event - and then really thank him as well for single-handedly making me feel probably the worst about myself in my entire life. So, thank you Robert Johnson of Indianapolis... (works as Director of Sales at Azimuth Systems). Thank you for putting your own post on Facebook as the plane was boarding about the very large man that you had to sit next to. Thank you for thanking United for your window seat choice on the flight, right next to me. Thank you for telling your friends that you think airlines really should considering putting a weight/size limit on people that sit in their seats. Thank you for taking the time to Google Is there a weight or size limit for passengers - and then taking them time to read the article on smartertravel that went into detail how most airlines determine if people need to purchase an additional seat. All while I sat next to you... I do thank you because you did really reinforce my general lack of respect for most people out there, its because of people like you I will continue to lose my faith in society and the ugly people that many of us encounter like you daily. I also thank you for validating that I am WELL within the guidelines of a single seat purchase, even though sitting next me to was a travesty for you during the flight. But what is really great is how you handled me addressing this situation with you... with your first comment to me being well, I purchased a seat.. I want to have a seat. I think that really sums it up as you spent the entire flight with your arm on the middle armrest with your elbow in my side (in my seat space mind you). And then not understanding why I told you to stay away from me in the airport terminal when you tried to approach me to try and justify your behavior - Im guessing that you must not be used to people standing up for themselves against your lovely comments about them. Airlines are not comfortable for anyone Rob, but those of use that are not of average size like yourself do not need people like you reminding us of those things - especially in the way that you chose to. Maybe next time you will buy a first class seat so you dont have to thank the airline for subjecting you to such horrors, and maybe you will think twice about how you made a big guy feel for trying to travel with fine folk such as yourself.
