I would like to thank Big Island Ice Company, Nanawale Community Association, Senator Gilbert Kahele, Councilwoman Madeline K Greene, Robert Berry-Simon, Senator Brian Schatz, Ulu Stephenson Poepoe, Damon Tucker and the countless people who helped make the donation and distribution at Nanawale happen today, especially all the people on the ground there who helped to get the word out to that community about the event. Literally thousands of pounds of ice, water, and food were collected and distributed within a day, which is an extraordinary testament to the Hawai‘i Island community. The likely next step will be a small (non-tax deductible) fundraiser to kokua the community association and companies have been have providing supplies to the community, just something O‘ahu people can give to - stay tuned!
