I would rather be pepper sprayed again than have my feet feel like - TopicsExpress

I would rather be pepper sprayed again than have my feet feel like this. 27 hours, 50ish miles, 53 started, 20 of them were already my friends (by the end many more were) my feet blistered up around mile 7. Lessons learned. I am very thankful for Tolson Polson to tell me to stop and have the shadow company take care of my feet. I would not have made it. Then Janna Roberts giving me a hug the exact moment I needed one. I had a great time during the day...the evolutions were fun, the training moments were a blast, we had great cadre, the group was amazing. We rucked a couple miles to get to the 12 mile ruck after that we kept moving away from the start point...so when they finally started heading us back into the direction of the start point we knew we had a LONG way to go. I had the hardest time keeping up. But anytime someone would ask I would just smile and say I was doing amazing. Eventually I kept slowing down more, I felt horrible that couldnt keep up with the team, I didnt want them taking longer just because of me (even though there were a couple others sucking wind just as bad) the only thing that kept me from quitting is knowing my friends would never let me. They would have carried me the rest of the way if I needed them to. I am so thankful for Keith Brown for sticking next to me when I was hating life. The girls in this group are amazing women! Always there for a hug, smile, or motivation when needed. I am extremely thankful to so many members of this group for cheering me on when I needed it. I also had a blast getting to know so many awesome people. Next time, lets just go for a beer. Thank you to everyone who has cheered me on this last week, giving me support, and thank you to Andrea Caddy for letting me crash on her futon and snuggle up with her dog.
