I would urge our members to email, as Claire suggested, to call upon the TDC to hold a public meeting at the Winter Gardens, with the local MPS where I would educate them on their responsibilities and failures of ensuring any change of ownership of the Airport has, is in accordance with the ICAO and CAA who are responsible for ensuring such changes are in accordance with International directives. In fact it may be no changes of ownership, since the MOD sold it off, have complied with such conditions that is not their fault but the Government whose responsibilities are very clearly defined in Chapter 1 of the Airports Economics Manual that Rebecca Baty drew our attention to. They could also invite Ann Gloag and her representatives to answer concerns. I could give a PPT base presentation overview of how this remarkable Airport has been let down by sheer incompetence by the Government. Sir Howard Davies has excluded Manston and focussed on Heathrow and Gatwick for new runways to be built. The Aviation Minister with no expertise in the Aviation Sector, has recently supported the Development of Lydd that will surprise Davies no doubt and which has real airspace constraints with the Army Firing Ranges and Nuclear Power Station that makes landings particularly difficult in certain wind directions that has been identified by an airline pilot, on the Lydd Action Group that I have invited to join us, along with the Gatwick Group. If Lydd Airport is to be developed, why not add Manston with less problems and a much longer runway that can take the largest of Airliners and even a shuttle landing?
