I would venture to add 2 final questions for Justice Clarence Thomas to answer: 1.) Has he not benefitted from laws like affirmative action himself? 2.) Do he honestly believe that he would be a supreme court justice if not for these laws that have historically been in place? I feel an overwhelming majority of Blacks would agree that Justice Thomas WOULD NOT be where he is today if not for those laws. I do commend Justice Thomas for being as involved with youth and having such a warming disposition when not on the bench. However as a Black man who identifies daily FAR TOO OFTEN that Blacks are facing mental slavery now more than ever; I have lost respect for him as it appears he attempts to justify these laws are no longer needed. It is my humble opinion that laws such as these which BALANCE / LEVEL the playing field are critical to ALL MINORITIES!!!! James Bruin
