I wrote something on a RUSH page Clockwork Angles Rush Fans United and unfortunately I couldnt share it to my regular home page so I thought I would share it here with all my regular friends. R U S H F A N S F O R E V E R . . . . . U N P L U G G E D Over the years, we have seen several documentary’s explaining RUSH, its band members, the people behind the scenes and the people involved. From the beginning to today, people have tried to explain the band, its success, longevity, creativity, growth, the characters and the people behind the success of RUSH. Actors, fellow musicians & music industry notables have voiced in their perspective on what is the factor is that keeps 60 - 61 year old guys so “COOL” their fan base draw not has hit 5 decades. While I was considering all these things, I stumbled across a conclusion that I thought was very important and that many real fans will appreciate. At 48…….and having been a fan since I was 10, my longest relationship in my life has been with RUSH. I am married 20 years, with 2 kids……….but when I reflect on how many times RUSH music has helped me, made me happy…….made me cry at times (Resist in RIO), the one thing that I completely understand now simply as a human being is that I truly love 3 guys, I will never meet. We appreciate the heart and soul of 3 guy’s work, who only do what’s real to them and in turn….. we ”GET IT”. I remember how horrified I was hearing of Neil’s losses in 97/98, his hiatus and how bad I wished I could just tell him how sorry I was. MY relationship with RUSH has only been good for me. It is one that I cherish and appreciate today more than ever. In the end, I feel blessed to have been alive to see the story of RUSH! RJ p.s.
