Technical skills should include: · Database software installation & removal · Database creation & decommissioning · Database upgrading/security patching · Backup and Recovery strategies & operational delivery · Security management · Capacity management · Database Performance/Tuning · DB2 Data Management Tools · SQL (DML and DDL) · Data Replication (DPropR) · Data Partitioning Facility (DPF) · High Availability, configuration and operation (HADR and clustered nodes) · Monitoring & alerting contribution or delivery in respect to backups and breaching other operational thresholds · Good general IT literacy, including a good level of knowledge platform and dependent product knowledge o UNIX/Linux operation & administration o Korn shell/Perl scripting o Windows operation & administration o Windows scripting/BAT files o Flash Copy o Tivoli Storage Manager (incl Lan Free) o IBM Tivoli Monitoring Non-technical skills should include: · Communication skills - high level, English · Documentation skills - high level, English · Customer focus, understanding the pressures and priorities of the Customers business · Incident , Problem & Change process and tools including performing to SLA demands · Compliance procedure skills (ITCS104/GSD331/iSec/healthchecking/CIRATS/SA&D/CBN/QEV) · Problem Determination, root cause analysis & resolution skills · Excellent inter/intra team working skills balanced with ability to work unsupervised · Provide flexible working hours in support of multiple applications/accounts. · Proactive identification and progression of service improvement opportunities Other relevant information: The candidate will be able to provide quality DB2 LUW support and have good customer facing skills.
