ICC WCL II, 2015 ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ The ICC World Cricket League is on the doors. And, in the first practice match in South Africa against an average team, Nepal showed that they may flatten themselves against some good bowling. They will get plenty of that against Netherlands, Canada, Kenya, Namibia and Uganda. Also, the opening slot which was almost fixed, has to be reconsidered now. The captain, coach and the management must be thinking of that. Naresh Budayair, who played well in the Division 3 event threw his wicket in the first over for a duck. Sagar Pun, who played well in the final of Division 3 as an opener must be looking his way for a spot at the top. The problem might not be only that. If Nepali spinners will get slapped (like in the 1st practice match) in Division II & the opening pace bowlers wont get early wickets, it might be a huge problem for Nepal throughout the tourney. Sompal Kami, Karan KC or Amrit Bhattarai all must bowl in good areas (line and length) as they are likely to get assistance from the Namibian pitches. I hope Nepal wont play more than one specialist spinner, either Shakti Gauchan or Basant Regmi in the matches because the pitch wont do much for them. Since Sompal has shown some ability to bat, we can take 3 seamers in a match which can be much beneficial in such conditions. Lets wait and see how all goes.
