IF YOU ALWAYS IGNORE MY POSTS PLEASE READ THIS ONE! As some of you may know, I have worked in education and produced educational media projects both independently and in collaboration with educational establishments over the last 10 years. I have always been of the opinion that dedicated students can produce broadcast quality media projects under the correct tutorage. I am proud to promote the below documentary which I co produced with my second year BTEC students as part of my PGCE with Masters credits qualification which I passed this summer. I have taught for over 10 years as a filmmaker but thought having the official qualification would be good as part of my educational CV. I along with Lee Trueman (a fellow Media tutor who specifically tailored the BTEC units to fulfill the needs of the course as well as the needs of the documentary) embarked on a journey into discovering what happens when a person may need to use a food bank. We were aware that the use of food banks was increasing rapidly within Sheffield and news stories were prevalent at the beginning this year. We were unprepared for the stories we heard and the impact on the audience our documentary would illicit. I am very proud of the work that my students Cheryl Maxine Francessca Wilson Eve Cundy Richie Johnson Jaymee Peacock Emma Webster, Abdi Rizak & Shannon Taylor have produced. Please like and share this video to not only highlight what is essentially a growing concern, but also give the feedback and respect to the diligent and dedicated 18 year old media students who co produced this documentary. Thanks also to all who feature in the documentary. The documentary is also currently airing on SLTV a regional television channel - for info please contact me, Matt.
