(Luke 11:13) 16SeptMonday …… **GRATEFULfor** ….. 24/7 INTIMACY ….. I was reading a note in my NIV study bible, on Luke 11:13, the Holy Spirit as the greatest of God’s gifts to his people. For a while I was reflecting on this statement. Yes, in fact we can rightfully say there is no problem of feeling isolated nor abandoned among Christ’s followers. We have always a company in the Holy Spirit since the day we believed and accepted Christ to be our Saviour and Lord. In our present world of high-tech, superfast machine-mediated communication it is so easy to lose the real essence of relating with one another. Words are oftentimes quickly if not hastily said, typed or written, even sometimes contracted to save time and space. There seems to be very little reflection made on the message delivered by the person intending to communicate to the other. I don’t know for other believers if they have realized how much loved we are by God by giving the gift of his presence constantly in our lives through his Spirit. In hours of feeling isolated or alone we tend to seek company of friends or others, which is healthy and good. But what we often miss is the fact that we are never alone nor isolated. We are connected 24/7 to God, the Father, to Jesus through his Spirit that lives within our hearts. Jesus, the Immanuel, the Word made flesh, now is living in us. He knows every thought, every feeling, every struggle, every musing or pondering we have in our heart, mind or being. We can pour out all of our inside out to him without feeling threatened or fear of betrayal. Thank the Lord for his Presence and the implication it poses to his followers on how we ought to live our life, its every area, at every moment, knowing and savoring the reality of his Presence.
