IIHS Library opens to Public The IIHS Library is central to the institution’s mission to build a research, knowledge, and teaching hub focused on India’s urbanisation. It aims to be the largest reference library on urbanisation in South Asia, providing a range of resources and services to support researchers and practitioners studying urban processes and transitions in developing countries. Presently housed in the Bangalore City Campus, the IIHS Library is a repository of over 3000 books, over 400 CDs and DVDs, 40 print journals and magazines in addition to on and off-campus access to over 4000 e-journals across disciplines. Additional research and learning materials include cartographic materials, case studies, audio visual materials, and data. The Library offers extensive access to the latest academic work through wide ranging and inter-disciplinary journal subscriptions. It is a participating institute with JSTOR, and subscribes to EBSCO’s EconLit with Full Text, Social Sciences Full Text, Art and Architecture Complete and Manupatra databases for social science literature and legal information. In addition, it subscribes to a number of individual and independent journals, both domestic and international, pertaining to cities. The library is now open to the public.
