IKELENG’I residents were last Friday treated to something unusual when a white settler in the area, Peter Fisher, translated into Lunda acting President Dr Guy Scott’s speech. Fisher, whose grandparents settled in Ikeleng’i in 1906 and has since been appointed chief Nyamwana by Mwata Yamvwa of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has lived most of his life in the area and speaks fluent Lunda. During the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the district hospital for Ikeleng’i, Fisher translated for acting President Scott much to the amusement of the audience that gathered for the occasion. - See more at: postzambia/news.php?id=5329#sthash.Hh2sR7TF.dpuf
