IMMIGRATION REMOVES 30 CONGOLESE NATIONALS FROM THE COUNTRY The Department over the weekend removed a total of 30 Congolese national from Zambia. Of the 30 Congolese illegal immigrants 25 were removed in a joint removal exercise conducted Saturday, 12th April, 2014 by Headquarters and the Lusaka Regional Immigration Office. The Kitwe Immigration Office also removed 5 Congolese nationals. Meanwhile, Lusaka Regional Immigration Office removed 1 Ugandan national and a Nigerian national via Nakonde Border Control and Kenneth Kaunda International Airport respectively. In another development, the Kabwe Regional Immigration Office on Friday, 11th April, 2014 arrested 2 Somali nationals for unlawful stay. The same office also arrested a Congolese national for a similar offence. Immigration at Chirundu Border Control arrested 2 Congolese nationals after they presented Tanzanian travel documents. Immigration in Lundazi on Friday, 11th April, 2014 arrested a Malawian national for unlawful stay. Meanwhile, Immigration at Nakonde refused entry to 7 Tanzanians and 1 Kenyan national for failing to meet various immigration entry requirements. The same office also arrested a Tanzanian national after he was found in possession of a forged immigration endorsement in his passport. In another development, Ndola Regional Immigration Office relocated a Somali Refugee to Maheba refugee camp after paying a court fine of K 500. The Magistrate Court in Ndola had earlier convicted the Refugee for unlawful presence after being arrested by Immigration Officers for being outside the refugee camp without authorization. Namati H.
