IMPORTANT HEALTH BENEFITS FROM SALMON Did you know that women who have diets high in Omega-3 fatty acids derived from fish are less likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis? According to Dr. Simon Helfgott, a rheumatoid arthritis researcher at Harvard Medical School in Boston, the consumption of fish is really the only influence that seems to affect rheumatoid arthritis. Recent studies show that long-term consumption of fish (at least once per week) showed a 29% reduced risk. Eating more than .21 grams of Omega-3 fatty acids PER DAY (or the equivalent of one serving of salmon) had a 52% decreased risk; the benefits tapered off above .35 grams per day.
